This Italian band started out as a Marduk cover band back in the day, not too long ago. They are now ready with their first demo, 4 tracks of their own music, almost free of influences of the before mentioned Swedish band, even though an element here and there can be found on the Swedes earlier releases.
Raw and dark black metal is what we get on this demo, not that original, but quite well played and written. The music is drenched in an evil atmosphere, very dark and cold. The riffing is decent, very effective and a big part of building up the atmosphere on the demo, and once in a while we get a good riff or 2, the cold and raw, almost sloppy guitar tone fits the music well too. The bass is rumbling in the background, delivering the rhythm, together with the pounding drums. The vocals fit well into the darkened universe of Black Faith, it possesses the same coldness as the music, and once in a while the needed madness to move the overall impression to a higher level.
Black Faith seems to have what it takes to survive on a very crowded black scene, now they just need to make some more music and create some havoc. If cold and raw black metal, with a certain amount of madness and darkness is up your alley, I recommend you to check this band out.
