A new Australian band is ready to enter the scene, Internecine Excoriation hails from the Queensland area and delivers heavy and eviler than thou death metal, no remorse and no regrets, straight in your face brutality from the bowels of hell.
The guitars deliver chainsaw riffing, heavy and distorted, dark and brutal, there isn't that much new under the sun, though the guitar work is effective and in your face, and there are some good breaks here and there, and if you dwell within the realms of brutality, it's quite catchy as well. The bass is rumbling just below the strongly enforced wall of guitars and delivers some nice noise, it keeps the rhythm and pace going. The drumming is grinding in a great pace, going from mid paced to slow to faster all the time, not a boring moment. The growl is deep and guttural, evil and fear bringing, well performed and without effects, bringing back memories of the Finnish band Demilich, a great performance, that fits the unearthly heaviness of the music really well.
Mid paced and heavier than usual, is the death metal that Internecine Excoriation delivers, I don't know if it's a fresh breath, but the music is damn good and have caught my interest. The 5 tracks on this demo are all good within their own terms and the music is long lasting, it doesn't get boring fast, as there always is something new happening within the songs, great work from this relatively new band. Now we just have to hope that they'll release some new material soon. And perhaps that will be together with the recording of their gig they did with Deicide, that's a nice recording, catching the band's atmosphere performing live. I'm sure this band soon will make a sound noise and spread their message of brutality onto the hungering death metal scene.
