Finally, "Battalion Beast" has arrived upon our shores and is ready to devastate our ears and rip apart our souls. Panzerchrist stated their dominant type of death metal with their last release "Room Service" a very brutal and pummelling assault that turned a lot of people onto the band! We are now writing 2006, the band has left Mighty Music and has signed with the Dutch label Neurotic Records and has released their fifth full length album.

The band is still delivering harsh, fast and brutal death metal, though this time around, like it was the case with the third album "Soul Collector", the band has mixed in a good deal of black metal elements, even more this time around, than it has been the case before, and that does not make the music any weaker. It is especially in the riffing, the black metal elements are most evident, fast, cold, melodic and disharmonic riffs paint a lot of the atmosphere, a cold, dark and nihilistic atmosphere. The guitar work is really good, catchy and captivating, it is not easy not to become carried away while listening to the album. The vocals from Bo Summer are also well done, we get the, in the case of Panzerchrist, normal dark guttural growl and a more black metal inspired scream, both works very good and adds brutality, evil and sickness to the output.

The drumming delivered by Reno Kiilerich is as expected from him, fast and relentless, though still displaying a good ear for technical and atmospherically details, one of his most complete performances to date! The heavy rumbling bass is a killer and the sporadic keyboard lines works really well in the world of "Battalion Beast".

This new output will without a doubt take Panzerchrist a step further on the international death metal scene, a very tense and complete album, fusing together the best sides of brutal death metal and cold and furious black metal riffing, a very atmospheric output, even though it is brutal as hell. Weep no more Panzerchrist is here with salvation!
