Nauseant is a new Swedish death metal horde on the rise, this is the band's first demo, 3 tracks of technical and heavy death metal, somewhat inspired by the seminal classic Finnish horde Demilich, though still with a touch of their own.
We are getting 3 tracks served on this demo, all with neck breaking long titles, 'Inhale The Manipulating Ghost-Mist Of Distressed Disease', 'The Decayed Population Of The Polluted Planet' and 'Inside A Black Vortex That Dissolves And Transforms The Living', all 3 tracks offers a good deal of mid-paced to a bit faster death metal, heavy and crushing. There are some good riffs present here and then there, though the quite disharmonic leads needs a heavier base for working to their full extent, as being churned out straight on top of the bass and the drums, makes them seem a bit too thin and strident, a heavy rhythm guitar track would have done a lot good. When that is said, the ideas of the guitar and most of the play are good and well done. The heavy rumblings of the bass are also delivered well and fitting to the music, the drumming is stable and hard hitting, though don’t go much out of the ordinary and expected. The vocals are a fierce, though insanely guttural growl of the meanest kind, it is well performed and hits where it should, though a bit of variation of the deep as fuck growl, wouldn’t have hurt the final output.
The band has with "Abysmaltician" delivered an interesting demo, with 3 good tracks and Nauseant is displaying a lot of good ideas and seems like having a big potential for the future. This is a good deal for all fans of heavy and technical death metal, this is hitting straight out of the highway as soon as play has been pushed, and do only stop to perform wicked breaks. This will of course also hit it off with all fans of Demilich, no doubt about that!
