The Italians, if we can call Aborym Italian anymore, as half of the band right now is Norwegian, as there only are 2 Italians left in the band, namely mastermind Fabban and guitarist Nysrok S. Sathanas. The line-up is rounded off by the Norwegians; vocalist Prime Evil from the godly Mysticum and Amok (N) and drummer Bård Faust, who shouldn't need an introduction. "Generator" is the Aborym's 4th full length album, and I have been looking much forward to it, after brilliant previous release "With No Human Intervention".

The first thing that springs to mind, is the more metal sound the band has gotten again, the overly used, though still quite great techno inspirations that were a big part of "With No Human Intervention" is almost gone, and we are served pure madness in the form of metal. Not that all the electronic elements have disappeared, far from, though they are better incorporated into the music now, and the songs flow better and isn't as divided into bits and pieces as it happened once in a while on the last album. The samples and keys used on "Generator" are grandiose and bombastic as in 'Suffer Catalyst' or dark and industrial, both ways add to the atmosphere, and give the music, that special touch that makes it Aborym. Though the disco-techno inspirations haven't left entirely, as they show their ugly face in the quite killer track 'Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea'.

The guitar work on this album is amazing, Nysrok delivers hell of a blaze of killer riffs, great melodies, awesome leads and ripping solos, his play is really amazing, and he has really stepped up and he gives the machines a lot of fight to which element, that needs most attention from the listener. The vocals from Prime Evil are also great, a dark and evil rasp, alternated in various ways, always fitting the present atmosphere in the music. The drumming from Faust has also pushed the music in a more metal direction, the music is so much more organic and alive now, compared to back when the band only utilized drum machines. The drum-sound might be a bit processed here and there, though often the pure sound shines through and pushes the music in the right direction, and then we have to remember that Faust is a quite good drummer, he indeed shows a lot of skills on this album.

"Generator" is a yet a killer effort from Aborym, so far their strongest in my opinion, it hits right where it should. It is not near as claustrophobic as "With No Human Intervention" and the electronic parts are better incorporated into the metal tunes, with a better flow as the hard hitting and brutal result. The industrial spheres are really getting through the sound picture, and the many black metal inspirations do also stand really clear, a good and whole album that requests many listens before the full enjoyment is reached, and still after that is reached, the album offers many new details with each listen, brilliant composing by the band!
