Wow, this is a tough puppy to swallow, the Danish outfit Melted is delivering a quite varied attack of strange noisy metal infused hardcore. The band has its base in heavy groovy riffs, hooking the listener from the start to the end, the drumming is hitting of in a breakbeat style, keeping the rhythm groovy and quite tribal sounding most of the time. The bass is heavy and groovier than the most and is delivering a nice noisy rhythm track throughout the album, with a bit of funky inspirations here and there.

And the above is just the base of the music, the band's inspirations are many and that can be heard throughout the album. All from straight on hardcore, to more modern metalcore to tribal, to thrash to alternative rock, all is blended into a groovy and catchy wholesome, well catchy with a reservation, as the noisy and raw guitar and bass sound might will scare some weak hearted persons away.

The vocals are many on the album, the main vocals are divided by a decent melodic clean voice and a wholehearted frustrated scream. Those 2 vocals are backed by a lot of different types of vocals, some working better than others, though the variation gives a lot to the final output and makes the record more exciting.

The band has been on a trip to Sweden to record the album, they have been at the Dug Out Studio, Daniel Bergstrand's cave, he has given the band a heavy as fuck production, and very dynamic. The high end is high and the low end is rumbling, a great sound fitting the music really well and a sound that makes a great contrast between the grooves and the sudden breaks. The placement of the vocals is really well as well, and the effect of the vocals works well.

I've had a quite hard time to get through this album at times, and at others the time has flown away, while the shenanigans have been blasting in my ears. This is modern metal, made out from ingredients long known to the scene, though a fresh record, bringing the future to now. It isn't easy listening and takes a little while to get into. This kind of music will never become a personal fave of mine, though the time for such metal is here now, and Melted has done a good album, that'll make its mark on the scene as it is today! Though I miss some more flow, that would have made the overall impression more hard hitting and constant, and that is what this album lacks, some serious flow!
