The Brazilian trio, the conquerors of Armageddon are now once again ready to attack our ears and conquer our time and minds with their new offering "AssassiNation". 11 blasts from the hands of Krisiun and a cover version of Motörhead's 'Sweet Revenge' are what we are getting and that is enough to fulfil the needs of any hungry fan of brutal death metal.
At first it all seems the usual deal from Krisiun, blasting death metal, more brutal than the most, ripping riffs, slaying leads and punishing drum work. Though the band has become better songwriters, the songs are more varied, both within the songs, though also the songs in between. The pace is also getting alternated nicely, we are not only getting treated furious blast beats as we once did, the development from the last album "Works Of Carnage" is completed very well on "AssassiNation".
Musically the album is excellent as well, the guitar work is blistering, the main riffs are brutal yet catchy. The leads and solos amazing and ear-piercing. The bass is heavy, rumbling, always pumping and audible. The drumming as inhuman as always, really impressive and amazing, and it must demand a stamina out of this world, to pull such off.
From the start to the end, which is Krisiun's good version of Motörhead's 'Sweet Revenge', we are in for a beating of the good ones. Aggressive death metal with balls as big as the moon and as hard-hitting as gravity. It is nice to hear a brutal as fuck band, with the ability to develop without loosing its identity or becoming weird or softer. Krisiun is Krisiun and has kept their trademark sound, though blended more technically and finesse into the grand picture, and made an extreme, though very listenable and alternated record, and one that is very lasting as well, let's not forget that point. That has might been the problem with some of the band's earlier material, one did grow tired of it too fast, due to all the head-pounding of the brutality, that hurdle has the band now overcome and is ready for the next era. This is a good buy, if you should have any doubt!
