We are already at the third album from the Danish metallers Raunchy, damn time moves fast, it almost feel like it was yesterday I heard the band's music for the first time. Their 2 previous albums have gotten an "okay" mark in my book, and the couple of times I have caught them live, have been good experiences as well. Though this album is another deal, or perhaps I'm just more open and ready to receive their music this very day, wauv for an album. A revelation in modern metal all the way through, catchy and enchanting tunes, with good melodies and intriguing parts keeping the interest caught.

The thing that first springs to mind is the song writing, the band has really matured and is writing killer songs. They catch on from the start and keep the listener nailed, throughout the album. The album is a good blend of a heavy and crushing thrashy metal base, spiced up with smooth melodies en masse and pop hooks and choruses seldom heard as well-made and gripping as here. Into that the band has weaved electronical elements as samples and synth, to spice it further up and to add a bit of an industrial atmosphere at times.

Musician wise the band is competent as well, there are a lot of good guitar work on the album, some impressive melodies, effects and leads. The bass is good and rumbling, it could have been a bit more in focus, once in a while, though it's keeping the rhythm in a tight grip. The drumming is delivered well, good and varied, seldom a boring moment. The vocals are great as well, this was the spot many feared for, as this is Kasper Thomsen's first album with the band, and replacing the former singer Lars Vognstrup haven't been an easy task. Though Kasper does it really well, his ugly thrash-alike scream works really well in this context, together with keyboarder Jeppe Christensen's clear vocals, which are really good and gripping, and the clear vocals add a lot to this album. And the play between the 2 vocal types is almost orgasmic at times.

This album will hit it straight on, with all with a bit of an open mind and people into modern metal, there isn't much doubt about that. This album will most likely also mark the international breakthrough for Raunchy, they have really outdone themselves with this record. They do not show any compromise, they have found their style, mixing up metal with more pop-like tones and the result they get are both hard-hitting and beautiful, the music demands both headbanging and one singing along with the choruses. I don't have much more to say, unless you want me talking all day and night long, so I better keep it a recommendable.
