My curiosity for hearing this band was awakened when the band was formed some time ago, a band consisting of the Persuader members Jens Carlsson and Emil Norberg, ex-Blind Guardian drummer Thomen Stauch and Iron Saviour singer Piet Sielck, who in this band handles the guitars, could only kick serious ass. I had my expectations up really high, a dangerous thing at times, as that often leads to disappointment.

At the first listen it is easy to hear from which bands that members are from, there are straight ahead power metal bashers, breath-taking and neck-breaking, catchy melodies good and gripping riffs and a very good and raw attitude. We have more epic power metal tunes, enchanting and spell binding, hard to let go off, when they first have entered the mind, they keep on haunting the mind for a long time after the CD has stopped spinning. It shouldn't come as a surprise, but damn the material is well written, it catches on quickly and it doesn't let go, when it first has put its claws in the listener.

Musically the album is a feast as well, the guitar-work is very good, catchy riffs and melodies, good leads and solos, right after book. The drumming is good, straight ahead with a nice technical touch. The bass gets the space it deserves and delivers good and enjoyable lines. The vocals are amazing as always when we talk about Carlsson, he has an amazing voice and the work on this album is great.

It's not like Savage Circus brings us anything new, they deliver good old heavy metal/power metal the way a lot of people like it. It is hard-hitting at places and enchanting at others, good musicianship and great vocals all delivered in a nice and fitting production. This is what I'll mark as great metal anno 2005, and I think we can await a lot of this band in the future, their first step onto the scene is for sure a well made album that'll make people turn their heads, not only because of the involved members, but also because of the musical side of it and the great compositions.
