Hate-Anaclasis - A Haunting Gospel Of Malice & Hatred

I had my first encounter with the Polish band Hate when they released their last album "Awakening Of The Liar" back in 2003. Little did I know about the band back then, but quickly learned that what I thought was a pretty new band, was formed back in 1990, though never earned the acknowledgment nor legendary status such a career demanded. "Awakening Of The Liar" was indeed a great album, and with this, the new one Hate takes yet a step up the ladder.

Death metal with a great deal of different elements to spice it up and make it very interesting. The main-riffs catches on immediately, they are quite melodious and very memorable, good and effective guitar work, with a good lead and solo here and there. The pace is mostly blasting fast, though there are quite some more down-tempo pace-shifts and breaks involved, which makes the record good and varied. The song-writing is skilful, varied and with good hooks here and there, a nice blend of brutal pieces, straight forward death metal and technical parts, there isn't a boring moment on the album. As something new, Hate has started to incorporate electronical elements into the music. Dark misanthropic industrial spheres and samples, which only are used sparse though. But the effect of them is immense and huge, and adds a whole new dimension to the world of hatred. The musicians are delivering good efforts, all from the drumming, to the guitars to the bass are great to listen to. And the growl from founder, guitarist and vocalist Adam The First Sinner is killer, a lot of emotions and frustration together with a great deal of sheer hate shines through the vocals, as they are being put upon us.

Hate anno 2005 is definitely a band that deserves attention and recognition by the hordes of death metal fans plaguing the world. Even some parts of the black metal scene can be on this wagon, as Hate incorporates some black metal elements as well, and delivers highly blasphemic lyrics and thematics. Death metal with the deeds planted in the old school scene, spiced up with killer melodic leads, a bit of electronics here and there and very good song-writing, this is an album to check out.
