A nice slap of audio terror is what leaves the speakers each time one turns up the volume knob on one of the Swedish thrashers Terror 2000's albums. I have never really been into to all these allstar bands and it wasn't until Terror 2000's great live album "Slaughter In Japan" that I got caught in the world of the band. One really has to be a stiff-assed son of a bitch, not to be carried away by the high effective and even higher level of energy the band lead by Bjørn "Speed" Strid delivers on this output of old school inspired thrash.

"Terror For Sale" is a tribute to thrash and speed metal through out the ages, compositions, riffs and even parts of some of the lyrics are taking from good old thrashers and one does at once feel at home when listening to this album. Terror 200 delivers their thrashing madness in their own wicked way, spices it all up and slays on, there is not much originality over the music, but damn it kicks some serious ass. The guitars are very crunchy and ripping and the riffs are captivating, and the reminiscence of old gods are well incorporated into the carnage. The vocals from Strid have always been one of the true highlights in this band, together with the driven guitars. And once again does he deliver the goods, ear piercing and straight in your face, the main vocal, a good raw thrashy scream as we like it, is killer. The many back up choirs are killer as well, and really spices the whole deal up, I'm a total sucker for choirs in such music as this, it adds the perfect atmosphere of a time more or less forgotten, and here it is the icing on the cake! And perhaps the band should do more lyrics in Swedish in the future, the vocals on 'Stattena T(h)rash', which is sung in Swedish fits good and makes the track somewhat uglier.

This is far from a groundbreaking record and it is for sure not meant as one, it is a pure an asskicking salute to the bands and scene that helped shape the musicians in Terror 2000. The killer and catchy, yet fast and relentless music, together with the good sense of humour in the lyrics makes this record a nice party album and it should be killer live, no doubt about that. And the pun 'Bloody Blues Blaster' at 'Surfin' Bird' from The Trashmen, a track which Sodom covered on their latest studio effort "M-16" is a nice feature as well. Fans of catchy and fast thrashers should check this out immediately, though expect to be caught in the mosh!
