Relapse Records' video compilation "Recollection" has now reached its third chapter and again we are served some of the good and recent videos from the Relapse rooster and a few oldies as the video of 'Inverloch' from the atmospheric dark-ambient band Trail Of The Bow from 1995.

The videos are as metal videos usually are, there isn't many videos showing any new thoughts, so everything is as it should be. Technical death metal powerhouse Origin has accomplished to make an okay video from a bunch of blurry recordings, so the video for 'Portal' ends up quite good. The director's cut of Mastodon's 'Iron Tusk' is quite good as well and seeing Suffocation perform 'Surgery Of Impalement' inside a closed prison is okay as well. The video for Pig Destroyer's 'Gravedancer' has an okay eerie atmosphere, and the black and white effort for Exhumed's 'Matter Of Splatter' performed live is watch-able as well. Metal music videos are driven from the good songs and seldom by the videos itself, so it's good that Relapse has as many killer bands as they have, and that the tracks chosen to this compilation are great. Though it is always killer to see ones favourite bands perform live, and in most videos that does happen.

I am enjoying these video instalments from the different labels a lot, it's great to see the videos without being dependant on a TV show or 2, or surf the net to find them all. If you feel like that as well, you are for sure going to enjoy this DVD, all from Relapse from Nile to Amorphis to Agoraphobic Nosebleed to Alchemist to Skinless to Pig Destroyer and so forth, a sure winner!
