This album was originally released by Revenge Productions, the same label that released the first NunSlaughter full length "Hell's Unholy Fire". Though when they wouldn't do a repressing of "Goat". Hells Headbangers Records agreed to put out the album, with a bonus track, the Running Wild cover 'Preacher', which originally was to be found on the split 7" with Centinex. Together with new artwork.
As always we are treated with heavy and crushing death metal as only NunSlaughter can make it. Few effective and raw riffs are spewed from the axe, mostly in a slow and grinding pace. The variation isn't that big, but good enough to the listeners doesn't get bored. On the same time the riffs are memorable and hard hitting, dark and mesmerizing. They built the atmosphere that makes the music special and darker than the most. Together with the evil growl from Don Of The Dead, the growl is raw and well pronounced, and there isn't any need a lyric sheet, when he spits his bile at us, it is always possible to get his messages and hopefully some of them will cling onto you.
I have often wondered how the band can write such simple tracks, but keep my interest kept for as long as they can. When the album starts, one gets sucked into the bowels of NunSlaughter and stays there until the sound stops. Old school writing with emotion, hatred and atmosphere as seldom heard. There is a special aura surrounding this band. Though the sound is not as strong on this album, as it was on "Hell's Unholy Fire", the guitar sound is crunchy and there are some power behind it, but it seems like it misses some depth, and it seems like there are some "empty" space between the instruments, like it isn't mixed well enough together. But even though these small "mishaps", the music is well presented, and the music works and I can’t keep my head still. Though it all is displayed when 'Preacher' kicks in, there is more power behind that track, and the output level is much louder and the sound seems more complete. But this album is still a must for NunSlaughter fans and other maniacs into old school death metal carnage.
