Dark, heavy death metal, more blasphemous than the church thought anything could be, infused with some neck snapping groove and a healthy overdose of hate. That is the first hand impression many gets from the American harbingers of destruction Evil Incarnate.

This is the bands second full length album, the follow up to 2001's "Blackest Hymns Of God's Disgrace", and it has certainly been worth the wait. Even though I didn't really know what to think when I had my first listen, I were a bit pushed away, by the new drummer Garrett Scanlan's style and sound, though I quickly got used to it. He delivers more varied and blasting play than before heard in Evil Incarnate connections, and I guess it takes a bit to get used to such. Now he stands out as the driving force of the band together with the catchy and heavy guitar riffs and the thundering bass lines.

The compositions are simple and straight ahead. Few effective riffs are spewed from the axe, the pace ranges from mid-tempo to more blasting paces nowadays. The music is at times groovy and very heavy and contains a few breakdowns, bordering to being too much, but luckily keeps on the right side of that fence. The vocals are an evil and hateful growl, slow and the words are well-pronounced, so it's often easy to hear what band-leader Michael Eisenhauer regurgitates, and that is great. The production on the album is heavy and raw, fitting the music really well and is a good bottom for the blasphemous tunes.

If you like your death metal old school, heavy and blasphemous as hell, then Evil Incarnate is your band. After the 30 minutes dose of hell-spawned metal that are on this album, you find yourself craving for more, if you aren't on your way to a violent rampage! This is one of the albums I'm gonna enjoy a lot in the future, as the 2 first releases from the band!
