If you are into stoner metal, and you have many albums by the likes of Monster Magnet, Fu Manchu, Kyuss, Nebula, and *insert stoner band here*, you already heard this. No, this is not a cover song album. No, it's not members from those bands. This is standard stoner metal/rock. It's got groove, it's got an alternative/grunge feel, it makes you want to puff, but it's nothing new.

Overall, this is louder and faster than most stoner metal. And the guitar tone is different. But it's still stoner metal nonetheless. \"American Powder\" is probably the highlight of the album, has enough groove and speed to make you want to get up and jump around. Same with opener, \"Spinning Around,\" the other highlight of the album. Just listen to the beginning of that song and you swear you heard it somehere before. The whole album gives off a later-era Soundgarden feel, like the 'Down on the Upside' album. Even the vocalist sounds like Cornell at times. \"Hammerhead\" has a well done acoustic intro, and \"Because I'm God\" has a fun feel to it.

Like most stoner rock, it has it's faults. Production is somewhat weak, though good for the style. Drums are a little too loud, and the muscianship is there, but it's missing at the same time. But, damn, does this album GROOVE!

In the end, it's a solid stoner album that fans of the style should check out. It gives you the groove fix you might have been looking for. Just don't expect anything mindblowingly amazing or technical. But then again, that's not what stoner rock is about anyway. So, pop the CD in the car stereo, drop the top, drive twice the speed limit and puff away.
