How often does one come across a Danish death metal band, delivering quality death metal with class already on the debut release? Not that often, but it has now happened with Eciton. The band was formed in 2000, but the members have somewhat more experience from different death metal bands and projects, and that experience shines through the well-written and –crafted songs.

With base in old school straight ahead death metal, with crushing heavy riffs, pounding double bass drum, blast attacks and thundering bass and deep growls, does the band attack the world. Blended with technical twists, disharmonic riffs, great melodies and hard hitting grooves, which make the all-out assault complete.

The compositions on the album are mature and well-crafted as written earlier. They are well-varied and offer a great display of death metal and paces. There are many great riffs and moments during the 9 cuts. Not many boring moments appears, they band has a great way of keeping up the interest of the listener. Many good hooks from both the guitar and the vocals, keeps the attention nailed to the speakers.

Judging on this album, there is a future ahead of Eciton. This album is good and delivers great and listenable death metal. Various styles mixed superbly together, into a lethal audio-attack on metal heads around the globe. Though have in mind, that the album needs some spins to get a grip on you. At least it did with me, I found it a bit boring at first, but it opened up as it got more and more spins, and now I have a hard time with letting the album go.
