What to do, when one see an album described as "Emotional deathcore"? Luckily I didn't see that description before I had given the album a couple of spins, otherwise it might have biased the review a bit in a negative direction. Even though this hyped German quintet doesn't do much for me anyways, that was already concluded when I saw the talked about description.

The music is quite heavy, the riffing is thrashy, with a lot of melodies on top. The bass is huge and used very much. Always right behind the wall of guitars playing along in a very melodic manner, and at other times thunder-alike in the front together with the guitars. Nice to hear such a great and talented use of the bass. The drumming hard pounding, but not that interesting, it is being used in a breakbeat-manner a lot of the time. That together with the many riff breaks, makes me think of rap-metal. Even though Jagger screams and whines the best he has learned. The vocals are a mix between a good old harsh thrash scream, and the Gothenburg death metal scream and some clean singing, all the efforts are very emotional and the clean vocals tends to be whining.

The album is produced by Tue Madsen at the Antfarm, a much used studio and producer. The sound is thick and heavy and straight in your face. The instruments are getting strong through the speakers and create quite some havoc.

This album hasn't really caught me. The compositions tend to get boring too fast, and the vocals are quite tiring as well. There are no really surprises on the album, it just drives forward with the breaks, the thrashy riffing, the melodic death metal elements and so on. I guess this album could make some deathcore fanatics or nu-metal fans occupied for a while. If so, remember to check out the Bolt Thrower riffing used in the track 'For God'. A strange mix, pretty hard hitting, but also quite uninteresting in the length.
