This is the 2000 demo from this Finnish band, which has been released on CD by the American label Vendlus Records, which has picked the band up. Together with the 4 original tracks from the demo, we get the instrumental track 'Tuoni Vie' from 1999 as a bonus.

The band delivers very atmospheric and soothing doom metal with a nice organic feel to it. The music is very enchanting and touching, it grips the listener from the start and holds one tight to the musical adventures. The compositions are great and very catchy together with the melancholic feel, and as such calm. When the music plays one can relax and reflect over the existence, and still pay attention to the music.

The guitars are nice, both the electric and acoustic play fits perfectly together, great crafted. The bass is the backbone of the tracks and keeps the rhythm tight. The drums are mostly working as percussion, and that works very well. The band is also using a violin, and that fits so great into the atmosphere of the music, the musical side of this release turned out really well. Both musician-wise and composition-wise. On top of it all we have the vocals, and what vocals. They are smooth and soothing, like cream for the ears. Veera sings like an angel, and her calm, very atmospheric and emotional voice fits the music and atmospheres on the album so good.

It is hard to believe that this only is a demo recording. The music is very well worked through and the band's songwriting skills are very mature. The music is catchy and atmospheric, it really catches on immediately and it doesn't let go. I have been listening to this album a lot, to make sure it didn't get boring. That hasn’t happened, more or less the opposite, I could listen to it all day long. This is an atmospheric doom band all into the genre should check out, The Mist And The Morning Dew will for sure make a name of themselves, when their first full length album will see the light of day. This is a very supreme release, and I can't really remember the last time I have been so impressed by demo material. This has to be owned, but act fast, the release is limited to a 1000 copies.
