A legendary album has now been re-issued, one of the albums that started a new style within death metal. The first real blow in the face from Suffocation. The splendid mini album “Human Waste” is now available again, with 2 demo tracks as bonus, 14 years after it saw the light of day, for the first time.
The original 6 tracks, delivered as back then. Raw, uncompromising and straight in your face. Downtuned brutal death metal, with a technical twist, new at the time. Lots of great blastbeats and crushing rhythms. Thundering riffs, catchy and heavy, yet technical performed. To top it off, we have the rancid and angered growl from Mullen.
The sound as raw and in your face as back then, no re-mastering or some shit to try to polish the sound. And that is good, it was made to sound raw, and raw it should sound, and it does. Though the sound is very direct and crushing, turn this up to max, and people are urged to mosh.
The 2 bonus tracks are ‘Involentary Slaughter’ and ‘Reincremation’ from the “Reincremation” demo. Great and crushing as all the early Suffocation material. The sound hasn’t been polished here, left untouched and great, there is even a great tape fallout in ‘Reincremation’. That makes me wanna find my old tapes again, those were the times, so nostalgic this is.
This is a must have in the collection of any death metal fan, and now when the album is affordable again, there is no excuses valid. This is another piece of death metal history unleashed upon us hungry metal heads… If you think Suffocation kicks ass now a days, you will be surprised how vital they were, back when they didn’t use walkers.
