Due to all the current in events in the Exmortem camp, I got hold of guitarist Sigtyr and asked him a few questions.

How do you feel about the deal with Wicked World/Earache Records?

I feel damn good about that! I am shit tired of ending up on labels struggling to survive! Now we have a label with things under control and a label who is a step in front of the most! Besides that it does feel very good and comforting to be on label who has breed bands like Morbid Angel, Entombed, Napalm Death, Carcass, Hate Eternal, Godflesh, At The Gates/The Haunted, Cadaver and so on...!!!

It must the be the best thing that could happen for you right now?

Yeah, that is for sure, they have much larger capabilities than any of the other labels we have worked with and they can give us the needed support. Our main priority will be on making music, playing live and promote the band!

How far can you go, on a label like Wicked World?

Just as far as some of the bands I mentioned above!!!

You are soon ready with your new album “Nihilistic Contentment”, what can we expect from it?

A much more varied Exmortem album, and it will show some new sides of the band too. It will be one of the best death metal releases next year.

You have once again decided to record the album at The Antfarm (the last album “Pestilence Empire” was recorded there too) with Tue Madsen at the helm, why did you use him again?

He is very good to work with! He gets what we are saying (or he pretends he does... hehe) and it works! He can make the sound we want and he lives 5 minutes from where we live... Other bands are travelling 1000 of miles to use him, so he’s probably good enough for us too, haha!

What went wrong when you were signed to Osmose Productions?

The label is close to bankruptcy. I really hope they make it, they have done some great things for the extreme metal scene through the years. And Hervé (Herbault, label owner) is a cool dude, but they are struggling right now.

Do you have any other news for us, any upcoming concerts, will the album be releases on vinyl...?

The album should be released on both CD and vinyl, as it seems right now. We are working hard on getting on some tours and so forth, but you have to keep yourselves updated on our website, which just has been redesigned. You can among other things see the new cover artwork, pictures etc... I have by the way designed both cover, website yeah the whole damn thing, check it out!

Do you have any final remarks?

Well, I just want to say that it goes incredible well for the Danish metal scene right now... No matter if one likes the bands or not, there have never been so much focus and attention on Denmark as right now, and that is beyond great!

And just a small news flash: NEW WEBSITE / SHOWS / DRUMMER

* The new website is up and we hope you like it!
* More content (new MP3’s, photos etc..) will follow soon.
* We have confirmed the first few shows (Copenhagen and Odense) and an early 2005 tour is in the works as well.
* In other news Michael is no longer our drummer, but a replacement has been found and will be announced soon. He should be well known to most of you!
