Rageborne – D.N.A. Overdose – [Demo 2007]



Heavy and ripping grooving metal mixed up with a good dose of melodic death metal and some thrashing, are what this relative new Danish band delivers. The bottom is laid with some heavy riffing that has a good groove and catches the ear and the neck from the start, together with heavy basslines and pounding drums. On top of that we have a lot of weaving melodies and leads, which works out well and boosts the music and the drive and keeps it interesting together with some good breaks.

The vocal assault is top notch on this demo, an aggressive right in your face performance that consist of a rasping angry growl, which contains passion and personal involvement and drives the songs forward and makes it blast through brick walls, Rageborne is also varying the vocals some, and most of that turns out well.

A demo produced by Ziggy is usually sounding great, and "D.N.A. Overdose" is not altering that fact, a great raw and aggressive sound that's fits the music and the dark atmosphere on it well.

This demo is quite promising and offers 3 good and solid tracks of harsh metal with both melodies and aggression and good song writing, Rageborne will eventually stir a bit up here and there!
