I only know about Death. And Unearthed right? If anyone would please write a short list of the bands from Tampa, that would be cool. I'm curious of nature. 8)

There are so many damn good bands down there, Skully's list makes it up good, though I'd like to add Divine Empire to it, and Kult Ov Azazel is killer as well. And there must be more... hehe

Ooooh, very tough question indeed.

Purgatory/Iced Earth
Savatage
Control Denied

The Absence (http://myspace.com/theabsence) are pretty cool too, I just saw them about 2 weeks ago when they made a stop in Montana on their tour.

Hmmmm....? Let me see. Well Bill you guys got me into most of the Tampa bands because I was in a daze about it. I have to say probably MORBID ANGEL the kings of death. I think Bill knows the answer to my response.(PETE SANDOVAL)

Yeah I have to agree with Chris that Morbid Angel is probably my favorite band from Tampa. Trey Azagthoth is the most creative and unique guitarist I can think of. He's one of a kind for sure. Then when you combine that with the best death metal drummer ever, Pete Sandoval, it's quite a one two punch. I'm glad Pete got us the passes in Orlando so you could meet all the guys, and sitting on "the" kit was probably a cool experience for you to Chris. Really had a good time at that show and Krisiun was killer as well....great guys and a kick ass band.

Well, I finally checked out Morbid Angel, and I like those guys. Death metal has never really been my thing, but I like the way these guys sound.

Good call there Selpp those guys are the death metal band that stands alone. Songs are very distiguishable, one from the other, and over all very talented musicianship. What the heck took you so long ....:D

Haha, well, I've never really been a death metal fan at all, so that's why :P . My musical tastes are, well, not really changing (I'm still a power/prog metal freak), just expanding now to more different styles.

I usually go to tons of concerts out here whenever I get the chance, so that's kind of exposed me to a wider variety of music, and I guess a lot of it has grown on me

Ok, I think it's time for me too to tell you what bands from Tampa I like:

Purgatory/Iced Earth/Unearthed as I'm a collector of these bands.
Morbid Angel
Hate Eternal
Death
Cannibal Corpse
and I used to like Savatage a lot.

Some of the other bands mentioned by Bill, I have seen live on festivals here in Europe and I have always been impressed by the metal coming from Tampa.

Hey Bill, don't forget, I still need the signatures from Mark and Greg on my biker jacket!!

I'd have to say my favorites are Iced Earth and Death, but a few of my favorites are Purgatory, Unearthed, Iron Cross, and Chaos.
