Hevein
Mar 30, 2005 by Anders
I received this Finnish band’s promo EP “Break Out The Hammers” a while ago and was impressed by the material on it. It seems like I wasn’t the only one, as Hevein got signed to Spinefarm Records due to the music on the EP. I offered guitarist/vocalist Leif Hedström an interview and he said yes, and below you can see the fruit of our talk.

Hypocrisy
Aug 31, 2005 by Anders

Hypocrisy, one of the stalwarts on the Swedish death metal scene. The band has been through some ups and downs during their carreer and has even been put on hold for a while, but was luckily soon resurrected again. Since then the band has become stronger and stronger for each release. After last year's album "The Arrival" longtime drummer Lars Szöke left the band and was replaced by Horgh, as you might know from Immortal. He joined bandleader, guitarist and vocalist Peter Tägtgren, bassist Mikael Hedlund and guitarist Andreas Holme and that quartet has delivered the best Hypocrisy album in a long time, if not the best album. It is named "Virus" and in connection with the release of it, I recieved a phonecall from Tägtgren.

HateSphere
Nov 26, 2005 by Anders

Danish HateSphere has now delivered their so far best album with "The Sickness Within", also the first full lenght on SPV, a label that has the power to push the band far, so this should mean the band's real breakthrough, the album did also enter the Danish charts, something that rarely happens for metal abums. Accordingly to the Danish death metallers Illdisposed "The Sickness Within" sold 700000 copies in Denmark the first week, pretty good for a country with 5,5 million inhabitants, though HateSphere guitarist Pepe think that number is a bit over the top. I hooked up with Pepe and he willingly answered all my questions about the new album, how he and the band have developed and so forth...

Hate
Dec 28, 2005 by Anders

I got quite impressed when I heard Hate for the first time in 2003, when their album "Awakening Of The Liar" was released upon mankind. Great and brutal death metal that was very gripping. A couple of years have passed by and the Polish force is now ready with their new opus "Anaclasis - A Haunting Gospel Of Malice And Hatred", yet a striking and very good album, this time displaying cold electronic elements on top of the blazing death metal. I hooked up with band's founder, guitarist and vocalist Adam The First Sinner who told me a lot about the ideas behind the new album, Hate in general and the future of the band, which might bring a sequel to "Anaclasis".

Highland Glory
Jan 22, 2006 by Anders

Highland Glory released their second album "Forever Endeavour" on Massacre Records last year, in that connection I hooked up with guitarist and composer Jack Roger Olsen, to get a chat about the album and what was driving the band, though he wasn't as chatty as one could desire, so he delivered a bunch of short answers, only going in the depth once in while, but still delivering some info about the band and the release.
