Draconian
Feb 15, 2005 by Anders
I was caught by this Swedish gothic/doom band's first release "Where Lovers Mourn", but when I laid my ears on their new album "Arcane Rain Fell". I knew I was listening to something special. The band has accomplished to tune the style into their own and has delivered a really good album, so when I got the chance to talk to the band, I went at it and got hold of main music writer and guitarist Johan Ericson.

Delusive
Apr 5, 2005 by Stigma (previous writer)
Delusive is an upcoming new and interesting swedish death/thrash metal band. So far they have released two demos and some of that material is really good. Mighty Anders Sjöholm from 'The Forsaken' even helped them producing their latest demo EP. By entering their website you may download all their songs. I especially recommend Frozen and Possessed Reflection.

Divine Empire
Jun 20, 2005 by Anders
When I first heard Divine Empire's debut album "Redemption" back in 1998, I was litterarely blown away. A superb display of brutal death metal, heavily rooted in Malevolent Creation, where all 3 members at the time had spent some years. Namely Jason Blachowicz, J.P. Soars and Derek Roddy. J.P and Jason was the backbone in the band, while the drummer situation at times has been a bit unstable. Though as it is now, only Jason is left in Divine Empire, due to J.P. and the latest drummer Duane Timlin leaving the band. Jason should have a new line up ready, though it has not been revealed yet. This interview was conducted before J.P. and Duane left Divine Empire.

Demons & Wizards
Jul 16, 2005 by Anders
Before I received the promo copy of Demons & Wizards new album "Touched By The Crimson King", I had never heard the band. I had of course heard about it, how can one not notice a band contaning Jon Schaffer from Iced Earth and Hansi Kürsch from Blind Guardian? It didn't take many listens to get me convinced that the band was great and that I had to check out their debut album as well. "Demons & Wizards" is not the same great experience as "Touched By The Crimson King", but still a good album though. I got more into the band's new album and one afternoon the phone rang, and in the other end I had Hansi. We had a great talk about the new album, his inspiration for his lyrics, his lyrical themes and in the end he came up with a couple of news from the Blind Guardian camp as well.

Diskord
Jul 23, 2005 by Anders
When I first heard thos Norwegian band I was quite amazed over their music. Greatly composed heavy death metal with a twist of tehcnique and an obvious stench of Autopsy. The more listens the band's demo "Aural Abjection" got, the more I got sucked into their twisted universe. I had to get in touch with the gang to get some questions, and with in mind that they just had got signed to the Norwegian label Edgerunner Music and that there very delayed 7" "HDFH" maybe was about to released as well, the timing couldn't have been better. The interview was answered by all 3 band members, guitarist Channard (formely known as Chris), bassist Eyvind and vocalsit/drummer Hans Jørgen (HJ).

Desaster
Sep 25, 2005 by Anders
The German thrash machine Desaster which fuses their thrashing madness with black and heavy metal and makes powerful tunes out of that, are ready with their new album "Angelwhore" released by their new label Metal Blade Records. I got in touch with drummer Tormentor and got his view in the new album, the music and evolution of Desaster, why playing live and getting their music out on vinyl are very important for the band, and the good news that the band already are working on songs for the next album. I got into the band too many years ago when I look back... someone is getting too old too fast, I bought the band's debut album "A Touch Of Medieval Darkness" and their following MCD "Stormbringer" the same day, and was kind of suprised by the symphonic black metal approach á la early Satyricon the band had on the debut. Though I got more surprised when I listened to "Stormbringer" which was a pure black thrash attack, and that is the path the band since then luckily has kept!

Detonation
Oct 29, 2005 by Anders

The Dutch band Detonation sent me their promo album "Promo 2001" and that caught on back then. I later got their debut full lenght "An Epic Defiance" when it was released by Osmose Productions a couple of years ago. Time went and I didn't give the band much thought, until the day their new and second full lenght "Portals To Uphobia" ended up in my postbox, damn a good and diverse album the band has delivered. Swirling melodies, breaks and great power, I had to talk to the band again after listening to the album. I got a good talk with vocalist/guitarist Koen Romeijn, who gladly answered all my questions. Besides Koen the band consists of guitarist Mike Ferguson, bassist Otto Schimmelpenninck and drummer Thomas Kalksma.

Diemonsterdie
Dec 31, 2005 by AvNatten

A good horror-punk band is hard to come by. Utah's Diemonsterdie are doing their part though to keep the genre alive, or dead alive so to speak. Combining the classic sounds of originators The Misfits with a touch of metal keeps this band of the damned interesting. Come along as vocalist/guitarist Zero Delorean fills us in on the bands latest happenings and tells us what fuels his zombie filled world.

Destruktor
Jan 31, 2006 by Anders

Destruktor, a thrashing Australian horde I got to know when I received their mini album "Nuclear Storm" last summer, a great album indeed that quickly caught me. I hooked up with mainman, guitarist and vocalist Glenn Destruktor to get answers to my many questions, and they have now landed on my desk and here they are, so you can check it all out... Thrash with speed and brutality, old school as hell and with hints of both death and black metal, what more do we need?

Dawn Of Demise
Apr 6, 2006 by Anders

A new Danish death metal band is on the rise, Dawn Of Demise hailing from Silkeborg and featuring that town's most infamous vocalist through out the times Scott Jensen, which you all should know from his days in Infernal Torment. Besides Scott we have his brother Bjørn, who answered this interview and Martin, Jakob and Kim. The quintet kicks a lot of ass with their first demo "...And Blood Will Flow" a New York styled brutal as fuck death metal demo, which should help the band get known around the globe.

Degree Absolute
Apr 26, 2006 by Anders

There are extremely many talented and very good progressive metal bands releasing material right now. One of those bands is the American band Degree Absolute, a band concentrated about mastermind Aaron Bell, who also answered this interview. With him he has the musicians Doug Beary and Dave Lindeman, a couple of heavyweights. Below this you can read almost everything there is to know about the fantastic entity Degree Absolute and their selftitled debut album.

Doomtree
Aug 3, 2006 by AvNatten
If you have never heard the name Steve Zing before then it's about time you did! He has been cranking out tunes for over 2 decades now and is most notable for his work in Samhain. The multi-talented musician is back again now with his newest band that goes by the moniker of Doomtree. Don't let the name fool you, this is not a doom band but rather a highly energetic fusion of rock, punk, and metal. So sit back and enjoy while Zing answers my questions about his past, present, and future.
