The Forsaken
Jan 9, 2005
by Anders
It has somehow become a tradition from me to interview The Forsaken after every release the have made, so this is my third with the band. Though it is always some interesting conversations I have with the band, and here is what I got from guitarist Patrik Persson, who answered these questions right after the release of the band's latest album "Traces Of The Past".
Trail Of Tears
Mar 2, 2005
by Stigma (previous writer)
Trail of Tears are out with their fourth studio album entitled "Free Fall Into Fear". Kjetil Nordhus (Green Carnation) only joined in 2004 to meet Ronny's extreme vocals. Kjeitl replaced Cathrine Paulsen and for the first time in Trail of Tear's careery, they were without any female members. I contacted Trail of Tears to shed more light on these issues....

Total Devastation and Omnium Gatherum
Mar 25, 2005
by Stigma (previous writer)
After listening to Total Devastation's latest CD "Reclusion" I just had to contact them to set up an interview. Harri Pikka is the main songwriter in Total Devastation and Omnium Gatherum and in this interview he tells among other things how's it like to be signed to a major and a small label.
Tomas Bodin
Aug 27, 2005
by Anders
Tomas Bodin is best known as the keyboard player in the Swedish progressive rock band The Flower Kings. Though he has also marked himself with a bunch of solo albums, where the latest, the amazing prog-rock opera "I A M", is a grande and very ambitious album. The song writing and the efforts from the musicians and singers involved on the album are beyond amazing, the album has to be heard! In connection with the release of the album, I had a great chat with Tomas, where he revealed all there is to be known about himself and the new album.
The Ocean
Jan 7, 2006
by Anders
The Ocean, this German collective, with its core of 7 and a bunch if outsiders, who also deliveres a bit of this and that to the musical and visual ventures of the band. This is not your ordinary band, as you will find out when you read this interview... Perhaps you have already heard the music and have been taken away by the brutal to beautiful to atmospheric to technical to weird vivid soundscapes from The Ocean, or perhaps caught them live and have been blown away or amazed by that. I caught up with visiualist Nils and mainman, guitarist and percusionist Robin to get a good talk about the band and their music. Quite a ride.
Thyrfing
Jan 11, 2006
by Anders
Thyrfing received their breakthrough in my world, with the release of "Vansinnesvisor" in 2002, a really good album displaying a mature band, which finally had utilized all the talent they had shown on their earlier albums. Not that the earlier albums were bad in any way, they just missed that last bit, that made them great. Though I still cherish my picture disc copy of "Valdr Galga" a lot. We are now writing 2006 and late last year, the Swedes released their fifth full lenght album "Farsotstider" om Regain Records, yet a great and atmospheric opus. I got in touch with guitarist Patrik Lindgren and got a little chat with him.
The Berzerker
Feb 7, 2006
by Anders
The Berzerker the extreme Australian band, loathed or loved. They deliver fast and brutal, noisy and straight in your face speedcore mixed with death metal, though it's not all about speed, even though that is what the band is most known for. The unexpected is a big part of the world of The Berzerker as well, and that is something they deliver on their new album "World Of Lies", a real basher released by Earache Records. I have had a chat with bassist and vocalist Sam, so I could get a glimpse of what fuels the fire in the band.
The Deviant
Mar 8, 2006
by Anders
The Deviant is pretty new band, which released their debut album "Ravenous Deathworship" earlier this year on Tabu Records. The Norwegian band consists of Dolgar, E.N. Death, Violator and Blod, and I'm sure most of you will recognize those names from bands as Forlorn, Gehenna and 122 StabWounds. The Deviant has risen from the ashes of 122 StabWounds and is now ready to conquer the world. I had a good chat with guitairst E.N. Death about the band, the new release and what to expect of The Deviant in the future...
Torture Killer
Mar 16, 2006
by Anders
Torture Killer, the Finnish old school death metal band, which features members from legendary and praised bands as Adramelich, Demigod and DeepRed is now ready with their second album "Swarm!". The waves around this album has been a bit higher, than the ones around their first release "For Maggots To Devour". First the band is now signed to Metal Blade Records, for the second they have gotten a new growler, a man named Chris Barnes, a man you might know from bands as Cannibal Corpse and Six Feet Under. The band and Barnes compliment eachother very well, and we are served a good album! I hooked up with guitarist Jari Laine and got a good talk about this and that.
Torchbearer
May 12, 2006
by Anders
Torchbearer a Swedish "all star" band consisting of Christian Älvestam (Unmoored, Solar Dawn, Scar Symmetry, Incapacity and Quest of Aidance), Michael Degerman (Satariel), Henrik Schönström (Unmoored, Solar Dawn, Incapacity, Traumatized (Swe) and Quest of Aidance), Patrik Gardberg and Pär Johansson (Satariel) who also answered this interview. The band delivers death metal, with a few different elements mixed into the recipe and then they bulit their albums on concept. Their debut "yersinia Pestis" was as the title suggest about the black plague and their new album "Warnaments" is dealing with the battle of Jutland, even though there are a couple of songs dealing with a battle outside the British coastline, though both battles are dating back to WW1.
Textures
May 15, 2006
by Anders
Textures is from Holland and made quite some head spins and created a lot of fuzz about themselves, when they released their debut album "Polars" in 2003. The album was well received, it secured the band a lot of live appearances and an award as "Holland's most promising act". The band's new album "Drawing Circles" has just been released and that album blew me away to be honest. I hooked up with the band's skinsman Stef Broks and he was very eager to give me the answers I wanted!
This Ending
Feb 20, 2007
by Anders
This Ending a new Swedish band, or is it really, the 5 members vocalist Mårten Hansen, guitarist Linus Nirbrant, guitarist Leo Pignon, bassist Jesper Löfgren and drummer Fredrik Andersson, all played together in the now dead A Canorous Quintet, a band that haunted our ears up through the nineties and then disbanded. The members since played in bands as Guidance Of Sin, Niden Div. 187, The Dead and not least Amon Amarth. Though in 2005 the 5 guys started to play a little together again, which resulted in the band The Plague, which changed their name to This Ending and they are now ready with their first album "Inside The Machine". I hooked up with screamer Mårten and got a good chat.
