by Stigma (previous writer)
Slogstorm is a new band from North of Norway and they impressed me immensely during this years Inferno festival. I felt I just had to contact the band's spokesman 'Mortug', to set up an interview with Slogstorm. Luckily he agreed to answer some questions for you all! After reading this interview please go to their site and download their first demo! Especially the track 'Kald natt med draugen' is a masterpiece.
Sargatanas Reign

by Anders
When I first heard this Swedish band's new album "Bloodwork - Techniques Of Torture", there was something that caught onto me. Great death metal, straight ahead, but with a technical twist and a great atmosphere. I hooked up with bassist Niklas Samuelsson and below you can read his answers to my questions.
Satariel
Jun 22, 2005
by Anders
When Satariel released their last album "Phobos And Deimos" it was the first time I heard the band and their music. The album was quite good and for some while I hoped to get a new album soon. Though the Satariel was troubled by quite some label problems. But the Swedes kept on fighting and today there signed to Cold/Regain Records and are ready with their new effort and third album "Hydra". In that connection did I contact singer Pär Johansson and asked him some questions.
Shadow Gallery
Jul 17, 2005
by Anders
I wasn't to familiar with the world of Shadow Gallery before the release of their new album "Room V". It was a showcase of great musiciansship and songwriting. So when the opportunity was given, I took the chance of interviewing the band, to get deeper into their universe. The interview was answered by 3 of the band members, and turned out to be a lot of fun to do. Guitarist/keyboarder Gary Wehrkamp, guitarist Brendt Allman and vocalist Mike Baker answered the questions.
Sturmgeist
Aug 24, 2005
by Anders
I was quite excited when I first heard about Sturmgeist, the solo project of Cornelius Von Jackhelln of Solefald. When I first heard the album, I got a bit surprised, thrashy black metal influenced industrial metal, quite catchy, but still strange. Though after some listens the album started to settle and grow, and I became very fond of it. I recently got hold of Cornelius and he answered all my curious questions about the start of the band, his influences, the future of Sturmgeist and much more.
The Spawn Of Satan
Aug 28, 2005
by Anders
Dark and heavy metal rooted deeply in thrash and death metal, is what The Spawn Of Satan delivers. I learned about the band in 2003, when Hells Headbangers released the split album with Spawn Of Satan and Bloodsick, and I was right away carried away by Spawn Of Satan. This interview is quite old, dating back to the unholy date of 26/12-2003, but it is still very interesting reading and you all deserve to know about this band, and the band deserves recognition. Since this interview was conducted the band has released a split live album with Nunslaughter on Rhapsodeath Productions.
Scorched Earth Tactics

by Johell
Scorched Earth Tactics demo impressed me much when I got an ear on it. I wanted to know more about them. I ordered all the material they got on their website, I got in contact with Tero, had cool e-mail conversations with him and then decided to make an interview. So now, everybody will get know them and hopefully make this band one of the best bands from Finland. Because after the interview you're gonna want to buy their latest release "Blastradius". These guys really rock. Check out what Tero had to tell.
Snowy Shaw
Sep 24, 2005
by Anders
The mighty Snowy Shaw, who got known when he was chosen to drum for King Diamond, and later on joined Mercyful Fate and Memento Mori. He then was a part of the band Illwill, before starting his own band Notre Dame. Notre Dame was the band where he really got known and recognized as the performer he is, and not just the drummer as he were known as in the other bands. Notre Dame turned a lot of heads with their gripping metallic shock rock fusing together myriads of influences from the most extreme metal to softer and theatrical elements. A band where the Swede really established himself as the good songwriter and performer he is. He also joined the Swedish heavy metal band Dream Evil, as their session drummer, even though he quickly ended up as a permanent member and main song writer. Late last year he announced that he was splitting Notre Dame up, which of course was a sad news to get for all the fans. As an epitaph he has just released the Notre Dame live album "Creepshow, Freakshow, Peepshow" as the last salute! Now Snowy is fully concentrated on Dream Evil and an upcoming project with Mats Leven and his role on the coming Joacim Cans solo album, and I wouldn't be surprised if he had a surprise or 2 up in his sleeve as well. I had a great and long conversation with Snowy Shaw, which touches all of the above, a nice re-run of the past and a bit about what there is going to happen in the future.
Subcyde
Oct 22, 2005
by Anders
My acquaintance with the young Swedish band Subcyde started when I downloaded thier 2004 demo off their website, mainly to check out their cover of Testament's 'Low'. Time went on, and suddenly their demo "2005" ended up in my postbox and damn the band had progressed quite a bit. They had got a sound more of their own, the production was better and that made the hard hitting music even more hard hitting, a great mix of modern and older thrash with a splash of nu-metal here and there. I got in touch with vocalist Antonio Ravina da Silva and he glady answered all my questions.
Symphorce
Oct 26, 2005
by Anders
The German band Symphorce has developed quite a lot during the years, after starting out as a pretty traditional melodic metal band, they have incorporated more and more modern sounding elements into the music, without losing the melodic flair. Not all has worked perfectly, though it seems like the band have hit the nail with their new album "Godspeed". I had expected this interview to be answered by mainman and singer Andy B. Franck, though it ended up being bassist Dennis Wohlbold who answered the questions, and he did pretty well, when thinking of most of the questions was directed at Andy. The rest of the band consist of guitarists Cedric "Cede" Dupond and Markus Pohl and drummer Sascha Sauer.
Skullshifter
Nov 27, 2005
by Anders
I was litteraly blown away the first time I laid ears upon Skullshifter's debut EP "Here In Hell", 3 hard boiled tracks of the best old school crossover, I had heard in a long time, still sounding fresh and very energetic. I simply had to hook up with the band, hailing from New Jersey, to get all my questions answered, and to my great luck, both guitarist CJ Scioscia and vocalist/guitarist Tom Nolz answered my questions, so all questions ended up being answered very thoroughly and all there is to know about the band, is more or less to be read below here, together with some great info on their upcoming full lenght album.
Shining Fury
Feb 19, 2006
by Anders
Shining Fury is a heavy/power metal band hailing from Italy and they caught my interest with their new album "Another Life", which is the band's second effort. I was especially impressed by the singer's voice, whihc carries the music a long way and brings a lot of joy to the listener of the album. Though the music is delivered very good, as well, a decent album the band has made, there is no doubt about that. I caught up with guitarist and one of the song-writers Federico Accardo and got a good chat with him.
Stride
Mar 16, 2006
by Anders
Stride, a progressive metal band hailing from Houston, Texas is ready with their new album "Imagine", the first one introducing a vocalist from their side, and what an album. A nice travel into the realm of progressive metal with good songs, great technical elements and neo-classical parts, the singer is great, and the musicians have skills beyond what is considered normal, this is a band we will hear a lot more of in the future! I got in touch with co-founder and guitarist Joel Gregoire and he willingly answered all my questions.
Sonic Syndicate
Mar 28, 2006
by Anders
Sonic Syndicate a relative new Swedish death metal band, delivering modern melodic death metal, catchy and easy to get into, blending the traditional to newer era of melodic Swedish death metal with the American wave of metalcore in a convincing way. The band released their debut album "Eden Fire" late last year on Pivotal Rockordings. I hooked up with bassplayer Karin and guitarist Robin to find out what fuels the band and why they deliver the metal they do.
Submission
Apr 5, 2006
by Anders
Submission is a fairly brutal yet melodic and technical thrash metal band from Denmark. They have just released their debut full length "Failure To Perfection" on the French label Listenable Records. I hooked up with vocalist Steven Qvist and got answers to all my curious questions.
Stonegard
Jul 6, 2006
by AvNatten
There is a band on the rise in Oslo, and they might not be what you would expect from such a place. Combining melodic metal, stoner rock and a taste of the extreme, Stonegard are gearing up to take over the world. They call their style of music "multi-metal" a label which fits due to the broad scope of their sound. I caught up with Ronny, the man controlling the lead guitar and he gave me the answers to my barrage of questions.
Slave Zero
Jul 25, 2006
by Anders
Slave Zero hails from Ireland, and delivers a violent slab of death metal blended with a good deal of hardcore aggression. The band consists of great songwriters, and together with their hard-hitting music, they also have a strong lyrical side. I got in touch with guitarist Eddie O'Malley and vocalist Graeme Flynn and they both eagerly answered my questions.
