Pagan's Mind
Jul 24, 2005 by Anders

I discovered this Norwegian band when the released their last album "Celestial Entrance", which took me by storm. Pagan's Mind is now ready with their new and third album "Enigmatic : Calling", yet again a powerful and well played album, delivering very listenable and beautiful music. The band is getting closer and closer to becoming a frontrunner of the melodic progressive power metal genre. There has been a lot of development in the band since the start, the band has become very popular and have just played the Sweden Rock Festival and will soon go to England to play at their Prog Power festival. I hooked up with singer extraordinaire Nils K. Rue and got answers to all my curious questions.

P.H.O.B.O.S.
Oct 5, 2005 by Anders

I still get a chill down my spine when I think back at the first time I listened to P.H.O.B.O.S.' debut album "Tectonics", dark droning soundscapes, frustrated screams, industrial effects, heavy and captivating and nightmare inducing... I had to find the source of the musical madness displayed on the release and got in contact with the band's single member Frederic Sacri and he gave a thoroughly introduction to the world of his band and what triggers the music.

Paths Of Possession
Oct 8, 2005 by Anders

Lately when I have received music by new Metal Blade Records signings, I've been rather sceptical towards the releases, due to the label signing some "strange" (in my opinion) bands once in a while. It was with that reaction that I threw Paths Of Possession's Metal Blade debut in my player, the first couple of spins didn't do much for me, but then the album started to open and I got into the world of the band. The album "Promises In Blood" turned out to be a great deal of death metal, with both thrash and melodic influences. The band consists of bassist Randy Butman, guitarists Jay Fossen and Jack Goodwin, drummer Nick Goodyear and session vocalist George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher, as you might know from Cannibal Corpse. I hooked up with Randy Butman and got a nice talk about the band, their past, the present and the future.

Pallas
Dec 25, 2005 by Anders

The Scottish prog-rock band Pallas is ready with their new album "The Dreams Of Men", this is my first encounter with the band, but I have to admit I got blown away while listening to their tunes. The band has quite some years behind them, they were initially formed in 1974 as Rainbow, but changed name to Pallas in 1977, when Ritchie Blackmore debuted with his new band Rainbow. The only original member left in the band is bassist Graeme Murray. The one who gladly answered my questions was one of the new kids on the block, Alan Reed the vocalist who only have been a part of Pallas for 21 years.

Pyramaze
Apr 5, 2006 by Anders

The Danish based Pyramaze is now ready with their second album, the concept album "Legend Of The Bone Carver" a well -written and -performed story. I got in touch with the band's songwriter and guitarist Michael Kammeyer. Though the 2 leading powers in the band may be the 2 Americans vocalist Lance King and keyboarder Jonah Weingarten, even though all the in the band are delivering a hell of a performance.

Pure Inc.
Jun 19, 2006 by Anders
Pure Inc. a energetic rock band from Switzerland, ready with their second album "A New Day's Dawn". An album that offers great rock n' roll, straight forward music, with a layer hidden behind the surface, so there is a basis for digging in deep and spend many hours on the album. I hooked up with singer Gianni Pontillo to hear what drives the band and what they are all about.

Prototype
Aug 2, 2006 by Anders
When I earlier this year heard the album "Trinity" with the LA based outfit Prototype, was I pretty much blown away. Their superb blend of melodic power metal, heavy and ass kicking thrash and loads of progressive elements, is a killer! After some time with the album, I hooked up with guitarist Kragen Lum from the band and got a great talk!

Prototype
Aug 4, 2006 by Anders
Prototype blew me away with their debut album "Trinity", which received its European release in 2003. Right after the European release the band had tons of plans and was more or less ready to go ahead with their next release, though suddenly it became awfully silent from the Prototype camp. We are now writing the year 2006 and suddenly a new Prototype album ended up on my floor. The new album "Continuum" follows the style the band introduced with "Trinity", though much better. I soon hooked up with vocalist and guitarist Vince Levalois and he  brought me up to speed on things and tells us all there is to know about the past, present and future of Prototype.
