Miksha

by Stigma (previous writer)
Miksha hail from Norway and are a pretty new industrial heavy metal band. Collect Your Hazardous Waste is the title for their debut album which will be released in late January/early February through their own Fineline Recordings. I have a weak spot for this kind of music and after hearing a couple of songs from their debut album "Collect Your Hazardous Waste" I just had to contact Miksha and get some more info about this exciting band...
Manticora

Earlier this year the Danish band Manticora got its 3 first full lenght albums re-released by the band's current label Massacre Records. The albums are "Roots Of Eternity", "Darkness With Tales To Tell" and "Hyperion", all remastered and they contain the MCD from 1997 "Dead End Solution" as a bonus, though with the tracks divided on the albums, so you have to buy them all to get the full MCD. In this connection I hooked up with singer Lars F. Larsen and got a good talk about the re-masters, the past, the present and the future of Manticora, which soon will bring a DVD and a new album, which seems to become really interesting.
Municipal Waste

Tour de force crossover metal, leaving nothing to be wished for. Hailing from America and picking up the legacy of ripping thrash crossover which were big in the late 80ties and early 90ties and more or less has been forgotten. Municipal Waste are now ready with their second full length album "Hazardous Mutation", their Earache Records debut. I caught vocalist Tony in a landfill and got answers to some of my questions.
Mumakil

To have a talk with Jéjé (Jérome) is always a lot of fun and interesting as well. A few days before Mumakil was ready to hit the road, I met him at a Pub here in Geneva and after a couple of beers, we went down to their very own lair where they recorded their first demo to talk about Mumakil's future and so on. This band is incredible, full of grinding power and they are all cool guys ready to make your ears bleed... so beware out there... Enjoy!
Monomania

The Danish black metal scene is blooming and many good bands are offering their music to the hungered masses. Monomania is one of the newer bands, and they have proved to have quality to offer, their second demo "Dødelandets Åbenbaring" is a good, dark, eerie and atmospheric black metal release, without compromising the legacy of Nordic black metal. I got in touch with bassist/vocalist Vrede and drummer Gidim and got answeres to my many questions.
Månegarm

Månegarm, this rather unknown Swedish band has delivered great viking metal album for a great while now. They have so far released 4 full length albums, where the last 2 are really good, with their latest "Vredens Tid" being the absolute peak, a stunning and captivating album. To find out how the Swedish band worked, where they find their inspiration and so forth, I got in contact with drummer and vocalist Erik Grawsiø and he gladly answered my questions and gave us a lot of information. The rest of the band is guitarist Jonas Almquist, guitarist and violinist Markus Andé and bassist Pierre Wilhelmson.
Mystic Prophecy

The German power metallers in Mystic Prophecy released their new and fourth album "Savage Souls" a couple of months ago, a strong and diverse album pounding their name into the minds of metal fans with a sledgehammer. I hooked up with guitarist Markus Pohl (who you might know from Symphorce), who had his first album apperance on the new album, even though he has been a part of the band for years as their live guitarist, though now his a full fledged member and he's done good! The band also got another new guitarist in Markus Grimm (Headstone Epitaph), after Gus G left the band, and a new drummer in Mathias Straub (Sacred Steel) who replaced Dennis Ekdahl (Raise Hell).
Melted

Melted is Danish modern metal band, fusing together a lot of different metal styles, with hardcore being the dominant style. The band is getting quite unhurt through their neckbreaking extravaganza on their second album "Kill The Romantics", which is being released this very day. The album is being released on their own newly found label RomanSick. I got in touch with vocalist Mackack and got a little chat about Melted's music and where they find their drive. Besides Mackack, the band consists of drummer Ulf Scott, guitarist and vocalist Kasper Pilemand and last but not least do we have Glenn Rottland on bass and samples.
Mendeed

Mendeed a pretty new band hailing from Scotland and ready to conquer the world with their insane blend of melodic death metal, thrash, traditional heavy metal and much more. The band has just released their debut album "This War Will Last Forever" on Nuclear Blast in Europe. The album has been available in Great Britain for some months, and has made quite a hype over there. I hooked up with the band's singer and lyric writer David and he willingly told a lot about what Mendeed is all about.
