Killaman

by Anders
When I first heard about Killaman, the Swedish band that rose after the fall of Murder Corporation. The men behind the slaughter are still Rikard Wermén and Johan Axelsson (both from Deranged), together with Rune Ross from Reclusion, Roger Johansson from Insision and Kasper Larsen ex-Withering Surface. I hooked up with drummer Wermén to get some answers. The interview was conducted right after new years eve 2004.

Finnish folk metal masters Korpiklaani released their second album "Voice of Wilderness" last week. Korpiklaani is one of my favourite bands so what is more natural than asking frontman Jonne Järvelä some questions after the release of a new album?

This legendary Swedish progressive rock band with a strong scent of traditional Swedish folk music was formed in 1973, and released a bunch of records, before taking a break in the early 80ties. In the beginning of this decade, the band woke from its hiatus and began their new rule with the album "Notes From The Past" which was released in 2002 on InsideOut. In 2003 the supreme album "Keyholder" was released and today the band is ready with their newest effort "Mindrevolutions". In that connection I was lucky enough to get a chat with mainman and song writer Hans Lundin, we talked about the new album, his inspirations and how he works.
Kult Ov Azazel

I got hooked on this American black metal in 2001, when I heard their debut full lenght "Triumph Of Fire". Since then there have been a lot of releases and a lot of line up changes in the band. Though the core of the band bassist and vocalist Xul and guitarist and vocalist Xaphan, have continued the blasphemous train of Kult Ov Azazel. I hooked up with Xaphan a while ago, to get some information on the bands 3 new releases, the split CD with Vrolok due on Arctic Music, the 10" split LP with Horn Of Valere due on Abort The World Records and Kult Ov Azazel's new full length album "The World, The Flesh & The Devil" out on Arctic Music.
Killers By Trade

Killers By Trade is a one-man band from Texas, lead by Clint Love known from his abominations in Finsternis (RIP). He has so far released 3 great demos/singles and are soon ready with an EP. KBT delivers horror inspired rock with a dark and suiting atmosphere, gripping and eerie, which sucks the listener into the void known as Killers By Trade. I hooked up with Clint on a hot Texas day and got him to answer my questions.

The Norwegian black metal band is now ready with its fourth and mesmerizing release "Krek". As always old school simple and cold black metal with a haunting groove and dark lyrics by Hildr. Since the last album "Mørke Gravers Kammer" the band has changed from Candlelight to the Norwegian label Tabu and has gotten back to a more raw and not as heavy and clean sound as on "Mørke Gravers Kammer", it would be a lie to say that the band develops a lot, though that is great when talking about music as this. I got a little chat with drummer Sarke about this and that.
